HOLY COW! It has been two weeks shy of ONE whole year since I've visited this thing. I'm sitting here wondering where the time has gone and I'm sure you're like, "Where ya been girl?" Well......
So yeah...that happened! Meet Henley, our tiny princess who we have been spoiling since day one. She is almost FIVE months old and has changed our lives in so many ways. During my pregnancy, I fell off the vegan train {{gasp}} and am just now hopping back on {{yay}}. I started out with every intention of staying vegan, but my stomach had other plans. For most of the first and at least half of the second trimester I could barely eat and when I did, it was anything that I could keep down. Enough about that...I'm back at it and more enthusiastic than ever!
A few weeks ago, my husband and I went to the Beach Bums Consignment Sale at Hampton Roads Academy. It's a HUGE sale with tons of venders, children's clothing, toys, equipment, etc. We went to find some fall clothes for Henley, I love finding good bargains...it's practically my only hobby.
While there and in the check out line this lady, who I was really not paying any attention to, was talking to another customer about some farming program. My husband overheard their conversation and decided to go grab a flyer. It wasn't until we got back in the car and were headed home that I noticed what he had found. BOY oh boy am I glad he did!

It's called The Farm Table and its a weekly box of SUPER fresh, local produce delivered right to your doorstep. {{And it's amazing}} Your fruits and veggies are harvested on Tuesday and depending on your location, they are delivered on either Wednesday or Thursday. That's literally dirt to doorstep in 48 hours or less. It can't possibly get more fresh than that. The best part is that it comes from local farmers in Virginia! I love supporting local businesses and knowing exactly where my food is coming from.
Pictured above is the first box I received, which is the "Chef's box." They have multiple boxes to choose from each week ranging from $15 to about $35. Wanna know more? Check out their website here. If you decide to join, which I hope you do, use code ALISSAFT for 50% off your membership.
