It was an ordinary Saturday that consisted of me sitting on the couch for roughly six hours (don't judge) studying for my Mammography registry (oh yea...forgot to mention that I'm a registered radiologic technologist). While "multitasking" on Facebook, I came across the picture above.
After seeing this, the first thing I did was Google "Are chicks thrown in the trash." To my naive surprise, hundreds of links about hatcheries and slaughter houses appeared. As I watched countless video after video of these horrors and cried my eyes out I realized I needed to make a BIG change.
I stumbled across BiteSizeVegan's YouTube channel (link below) which helped solidify this discussion to make a change. Oh baby does Emily Moran know her stuff! Her channel features "nuggets" of information about veganism with credible statistics and facts. After watching all of her videos I was completely sold on the idea of becoming a full fledged vegan.
I sent her an email about how to start the process and asked for some beginners advice to which she responded almost immediately. She is very passionate about being vegan and can tell she really enjoys helping people (like me) on their journey. Her website has lots of links for recipes and other resources.
I want to thank Emily for opening my eyes to what really goes on in the meat & dairy industries and "laying it all out there" for me. She is an inspirational person!
