Is everyone so use to looking at all the smoke and mirrors they truly don't realize what's on their plate? Or have people simply chosen to ignore the facts?
February 2014 an article was written about a butcher shop in Sudbury, UK. Since it's opening they had a window display of their meats, anything from rabbits, half pigs, pheasants to deer heads. Until one day they were forced to discontinue their display due to shoppers who were "offended by the sight of bits of dead animals." The complainers stated that they were trying to protect their children from "the ugliness of mutilated carcasses." Surely meat eaters should have no problem seeing dead animals. This out of sight, out of mind concept is the true problem.
A medical study was conducted to show brain functions of patients while they witnessed various forms of animal abuse. Three groups were tested: meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans. Among the three, vegans showed the most brain activity that corresponded with the highest levels of empathy. Vegetarians came in second place and naturally meat eaters showed the least amount.
Love or Eat?
The more attention food animals receive and the more the horrors are brought to light, the harder it will be for people to detach themselves from reality. The truth can't be ignored forever...
